FAST international’s President & CEO Noemi Perez attended the Sustainable Wood for a Sustainable World (SW4FW) Global Meeting held by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome on 31 October - 1 November. During the 2 day event stimulating discussions took place on the benefits of sustainable wood value chains as well as the challenges and opportunities to strengthen them. Sustainable wood is a crucial step towards a more sustainable future envisioned by the SDGs.
Noemi presented FAST international’s innovative products and services increasing access to finance for SME’s working mainly in sustainable agriculture and forestry. More than 100 Local Financial Advisors Identified, selected and trained and ready to provide tailored coaching to SMEs to improve their credit readiness. She also presented the Key Results of the Survey of Global Investments in Sustainable Tropical Forestry showing the results of impact investment in sustainable agriculture. She explained the most important barriers to investment in tropical forestry, and key favour forestry investments.
